When it comes to the family foundations, I lucked out with one of the most amazing women in the great state of Texas as my better half. With that, we have been blessed with both a boy and girl that keep us constantly on our toes. At 4 and 2 - chaos, frustration and immense joy seem to be combined into one perpetual state of being.
I was born and raised in a small town 45 minutes north of Dallas but call Houston home. I received my Bachelors in Construction Science from Texas A&M and have worked as a Project Manager for a Houston Commercial General Contractor since graduating in 2011.
I have been in Houston off and on for the last 15 years as my construction profession has taken me out to West Texas numerous times upon graduation build some beautiful buildings for a few high profile oil companies that help drive this state. Since 2017, Houston has been my permanent home as I have worked on a number of projects in within our internationally renown Texas Medical Center.
I entered the real estate profession as a means of further challenging myself. I have come across a number of agents who simply check a few boxes and collect a fee (observed with the purchase of my first home as well as a few friends). This doesn’t sit right with me, especially knowing the debt situation within our country both on the governmental and societal level. A home sale/purchase is arguably one of the largest financial undertakings of your life and an honest voice on your side needs to be heard, not just the yes man mentality of many to gain a commission. In addition to that, a lease can have just as much of an impact on someone who has aspirations of obtaining that home ownership goal in the future.
In addition to that is the supplemental income that allows my wife to stay home and raise our children the way we see fit. Everyone is different and there is no one right way to do it but before we got engaged, we discussed the aspirations of our future family. We were both in agreement that one of us would stay home when that time came and real estate allows for that to opportunity to materialize.
While I continue my primary job in Construction Management, I believe the adjoining Real Estate profession is the best means of building a secure foundation for my family with the benefit of helping many other families fulfill their life goals in the process.
Meeting people from all different backgrounds with incalculably different needs, wants and expectations is something I am always eager of fulfilling. Be it; a brand-new house and nerding out on viewing new construction products, technological innovations, building means & methods, or finding that gem of a fixer upper and hearing the buyer's visions in their minds unfold - I thoroughly enjoy working with anyone and everyone looking for that cornerstone of their family's next chapter.
My wife has told me numerous times that I need to learn how to be bored. When I get off work, my odd way of relaxing is to work on something else. Be it a honey-do in the house/ lawn or my passion of restoring classic cars and trucks. I have to have something for my hands to be doing to take the stress out for the day.
In the wedding planning stages, I received a few frustrated glances from my better half. I didn’t particularly care what color the table runners (whatever those are) where, the color pallet of the flowers or a yes or no vote on the YMCA dance but the one thing I wanted for the wedding was to drive off in the car I built. That goal resulted in the complete restoration of my '67 Camaro convertible which I finished 2 weeks before our wedding.
