Setting the family foundations is paramount and having a better half to steady that ship is a must. I lucked out with one of the most amazing women in the great state of Texas. I was born and raised in a small town 45 minutes north of Dallas but call Houston home. I received my Bachelors in Construction Science from Texas A&M and have worked as a Project Manager/ Superintendent for a Houston Commercial General Contractor since graduating in 2011.
I have been in Houston off and on for the last 12 years as my construction profession has taken me out to West Texas numerous times over the years to build some beautiful buildings for a few high profile oil companies that help drive this state. Since 2017, Houston has been my mainstay as I have worked on a number of projects in within our vaunted internationally known Texas Medical Center.
I have recently gotten into the real estate profession as a means of further challenging myself. I have come across a number of agents who simply check a few boxes and collect a fee. This doesn’t sit right with me, especially knowing the debt situation within our country both on the government and consumer level. A home sale/purchase is arguably one of the largest financial undertakings of your life and an honest voice on your side needs to be heard, not just the yes man mentality of many to gain a commission. In addition to that, a lease can have just as much of an impact on someone who has aspirations of obtaining that home ownership goal in the future.
While I will continue my primary job in Construction Management, as I enjoy the construction industry and love my company, I believe the adjoining Real Estate profession is the best means of building a secure foundation for my new family with the benefit of helping many other families fulfill their life goals in the process.
Meeting people from all different backgrounds with incalculably different needs, wants and expectations is something I am always eager of fulfilling. Be it; a brand new house & nerding out on viewing new construction products, technological innovations, means & methods, or finding that gem of a fixer upper and hearing the buyers visions in their minds unfold - I thoroughly enjoy working with anyone and everyone looking for that cornerstone of their family's next chapter.
My wife has told me numerous times that I need to learn how to be bored. When I get off work, my odd way of relaxing is to work on something else. Be it a honey do in the house/ lawn or my passion of restoring classic cars and trucks, I have to have something for my hands to be doing to take the stress out for the day. In the wedding planning stages, I received a few frustrated glances from my better half. I didn’t particularly care what color the runners (whatever those are) on the reception tables where, the color pallet of the flowers or a yes or no vote on the YMCA dance but the one thing I wanted for the wedding was to drive off in the car I built. That goal resulted in the restoration of my '67 Camaro convertible which I finished 2 weeks before our wedding.
So, we were constantly bombarded with initial update request from the to be grandparents. Our response was that of any rational person- a grand puppy. Miss Paisley tends to have us laughing and cursing in the same breath. If I'm not working on something, this one keeps us pretty entertained.
That was the trial run as it were. Jenna & I welcomed our first child, a baby boy in Spring of 2021 followed by a baby girl in the Fall of 2023. I definitely have a new appreciation for the other parents out there but certainly wouldn't trade them for anything. Looking forward to the journey ahead with both going forward.
We try to maintain their privacy and keep them out of social post, so you won't see much of them here.
